Audrey Chen is performing with Phil Minton near Paris, but it's north of the city, I live in the south, and there's a transit strike...
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:38pm
david w:

That will be a good one, but.. that strike still on wow!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:41pm

U.S. news was following France for a minute, then pushed to the back page for some other drama.

One of a good batch of fine extended vocalists around the scene right now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm
fred:

I saw them together a few years ago, and it was really good. But I already had to walk 6 miles from a show yesterday, and Thursday, and half that on Friday and Saturday. Not to mention getting there first...
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:50pm
david w:

Brutal. We haven't had a strike of any real impact here in a while. But the threat is always looming.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:56pm
fred:

I actually recommended Audrey Chen to a young composer at work a few weeks ago, because she works a lot with voice
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:57pm
WR:

Haven't read updates on the strike for a couple of days, but when I read about the focus of the strike being major change to retirement and pensions made me think it may go long.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:06pm
fred:

@WR: Yep. Last time they tried this the strike was much stronger, and it lasted almost a month, and the government had to withdraw their plan. But that was almost 25 years ago, and if travel is blocked for the holiday season, this might get ugly real quick
