You know who else loves this version of "Cat's Squirrel"? MY CAT.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:03pm
Aitch:

Elder brother a Tull fan. Had a 8-track of Thick as a Brick in his van amongst others. Try playing that one to your kids....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:04pm
Irwin:

Did you like Blodwyn Pig, Jeff?
Avatar 10:05pm
Jeff Conklin:

@Irwin: Yes! My Dad got me one of their CDs in high school!
  10:05pm
Frank Zaatar:

Credit where credit is due: Mick Abrahams, one of the most original (and underrated) guitarists in Britain.
  10:06pm
Dean:

Told this story before on WFMU: For most of my life I've not liked Tull. Couple years ago I listened to an interview with IA, who pretty much admitted he didn't like Tull for the same reasons I didn't, at which point I learned to admire and enjoy their work. I liked Blodwyn Pig before Tull.

hi hi hi!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:06pm
Irwin:

The first BP, "Ahead Rings Out," made it obvious why Abrahams left Tull. Spectacular album. The followup was a bit of a yawn.
Avatar 10:07pm
Jeff Conklin:

I celebrate most of Tull's [60s/70s] catalog although Thick as a Brick is just burnt for me from overlistening as a kid
  10:07pm

When CB Radios were big in the 70’s, I was geeky enough to take the handle ‘Aqualung’. It was funny cuz a lots of people thought I was into SCUBA diving. I lied and told them I was. But the people who knew I was talking about Tull I became fast friends with...

Jeff, Have you ever played or had the inclination to play stuff by Man? Just played one of their LPs this evening. Quite a treat.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:15pm

The other Aum album, "Resurrection," has some fine SF psych-blues on it. Obscure band, only on FMU, of course.
