Poor Thurston's friend's crazy sister.

The best theme song in the universe. Those double snare hits get me every time. And the opera bit coming out of Bethany's show, too perfect. There, I said it.

I've never seen Patti Smith playing Sydney, but $US100+ tickets. Seems a lot, but will be the only chance. Looking forwards to TMIII. Iggy Pop Sonic Youth headlined a summer festival here 1993. They all ended up the night doing I wanna be your dog, Iggy waving his dick at the audience, quite something. I seen SY a few times, always amazing, is a little hard on the ears.

@ DonJuanTijuana -- right??? although gotta love a buncha others too -- Death Valley 69 still rips me open, even after 30+ years
@ Aitch -- do go see Patti if you have the chance! been following her since the 70s -- she truly never ever disappoints
loved seeing Sonic Youth way back in the early days too -- recalling a fantastic gig at Folk City (was on West Third Street, i think) -- they had a series called "Music For Dozens," three bands for three bucks (or something equally insane sounding nowadays!) -- Sonic Youth were so f*cking powerful and LOUD

Seems you got good rapport going with Thurston and got him talking. But this is first time hearing interview with him, maybe he just spills it anywhere anytime. Tune selections look good for context will go back for it all from the archive.

I always had a suspicion, but after 13 months here it's confirmed* LA punk is alive. It lives in the air, the ground, the water, the blood, the energy. I've witnessed it firsthand.

curtis_chaos_la_la:

ur welcome mod blaze! Tons of ripping all ages shows too. Gives my old af heart some bits of hope! A good number of the punk and trap stuff are teenagers or early 20's. And a fair number of the older crews are holding tite, too. Still learning this city, but feel v fortunate to have landed in this warehouse, able to provide a safe platform for them all.

Good nite y'all, thanks for another great show and interview, NK!
