One of the best things that ever happened to me in terms of live music is when a friend happened to have an extra ticket to see Portishead in 1994 at Bimbo's 365 in San Francisco, so she invited me along. Perfect venue for seeing them: like a lounge right out of Goodfellas, everyone at round cocktail tables with little lamps on them, table service, the works.

One of the best things that ever happened to me in terms of live music is when a friend happened to have an extra ticket to see Portishead in 1994 at Bimbo's 365 in San Francisco, so she invited me along. Perfect venue for seeing them: like a lounge right out of Goodfellas, everyone at round cocktail tables with little lamps on them, table service, the works.
