Every show starts with the ’70s! We’ll rediscover forgotten rockers, revisit unfairly maligned disco beats and replay power-pop favorites. Next: plenty of new releases, occasional live bands and more. Don’t let the nickname confuse you.

tuned in a bit late, but so enjoying what i am hearing (and yup! still have a bunch of NY Rocker issues :) )
@ Kat in Chicago -- YES!!! "Fan Mail" is one of my favorite Blondie songs too!
@ the chicken of the trees -- i was thinking of Julia too! only met her within the last year or so, such a fascinating person (and funny too!)
were the NY Rocker offices located in an old, abandoned school building on Eighth Street, just east of Avenue B? i remember going there with the "ex" and walking through Tomkins Square Park (on a Sunday morning, i think?!?) . . . TOTALLY spooky, the park was empty and the atmosphere was all misty, foggy . . . we were both still in school (!979? '80? "81?) (and living in New Jersey, hah!) and he was delivering artwork to the Rocker . . . the building was FREEZING (maybe no heat?) but the place was totally buzzing with all this amazing ENERGY . . .
what a fantastic, precious time in NYC . . . !

which reminds me! Max's had cocktails named after bands -- the Blondie, Cherry Vanilla, Tuff Darts, etc. . . . the SUICIDE was like EVERY high proof liquor in one long tall glass (and yeah, the "ex" insisted on drinking this, hah!) . . . Julia Gorton mentioned this when i met her, she said she had found the Max's drink menu online -- but it may actually have one somewhere (yeah, i am one of those goofballs who saves ticket stubs too, hah!)
