  9:37am Gina B:

We have a neighborhood in Nashville called The Gulch, a giant gully or ravine...I wonder if a gouge is similar.
  9:38am Gina B:

In this case, it’s big enough to fit a whole hipster neighborhood, but it still holds the train tracks and lots of industrial buildings.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:39am sinner:

Mundanin Kata sounds like Sacred Harp. Must know more.

I got Gouged in the Gulch. But that sounds awful.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:51am Doug Schulkind:

@listener Rey
Was your mom a fan of José José? His passing the other day sent many friends here into a nostalgic tailspin.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:51am Gina Bacon:

Gina 'Go Go Gulch Gouging'. Any good?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:57am nostrangerer:

Best link I could find regarding gouge. Along with a couple of references to Chicago's bad old days as Gouge City, seems synonymous with what we hippies called "rip off, man". www.vjm.biz › articles1

gouges, vamps, zulus & scronches

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:00am Doug Schulkind:

So a gouge is a rip-off scheme. An advantage taking. The sounds right to me. As in, "Hey, don't gouge me, Bro!"

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:02am Franco Twinkie:

Doug, It was 1974, I too was in Detroit for the first time. We ate Polish food a few blocks from Tiger Stadium. It impressed the hell out of me that the street surrounding the place was cobbled with bricks. We did not have that kind of stuff at Dodger Stadium which was built in 1964, I think.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:03am Doug Schulkind:

Blue World, take one...
Avatar 11:04am Listener Gregory:

These tracks were all released for the first time in 2019, no? 1964 is the recording date. Is that what you usually list?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:07am Doug Schulkind:

Yeah, I always give the date of the performance, not the release date. And I always try to give the original release info, not the reissue details. There is no right or wrong. That's just how I just to reference the work.
