	10:42pm Franco Twinkie: I remember Steve Allen would always have the groups that the kids liked on his show. I seem to remember Professor Irwin Corey and Jane Meadows looking startled as Blue Cheer made a god awful racket, but Steve just handled in his breezily sarcastic fashion. Then there was his commercial for Mocha Mix, where he banged out the jingle on the piano!
	10:45pm Funky16Corners: I know he got very conservative/reactionary late in life, but Steve Allen was a funny guy, who kept even funnier company.
	10:46pm Little Danny: Steve Allen seemed like a pretty hip cat for what he was in his time. He also has a cool read of "Song For My Father" from a year or two earlier, which I feel like Larry has featured at some point on this show
	10:47pm Erica: The only song by Blue Cheer I've heard of is their version of "Summertime Blues", which didn't make as much sense as the original. Surprised Steve kept it cool.

	10:50pm Franco Twinkie: I read in Tosh Bermans memoir that him and his dad, Wallace Berman, the legendary beat artist sat next to Steve Allen and his wife Jane Meadows at the Santa Monica Civic the first time David Bowie played in Los Angeles. I wonder if he was wearing a suit?

	11:35pm Funky16Corners: As far as I can tell this is Scott's first album as a leader (maybe his first overall). Very different that what he would do with the LA Express and Joni Mitchell.
	11:36pm geezerette: Soft edges for those over thirty. Can't blame 'em.
	11:36pm rw: Man. Those background vocals!! Insane.
	11:38pm doctorjazz: Scott sounds much funkier than everyone else in the band on this Aretha cover, but I guess that's the point.
	11:38pm Funky16Corners: There's a great transitional phase in vocal arranging in the mid 60s, from Ray Conniff type stuff to things like this and many of Curt Boettcher's arrangements. Even Anita Kerr got hip.

	11:46pm geezerette: Honeysuckle Breeze sounds like a good album. Languid, drifting sound.
	11:47pm Little Danny: @Larry, spot-on re: this period of '60s vocal arrangements. I think there's like one or two other representative arrangers that I'm blanking on at the moment
