OK, I'm starting to see connections here. The Immediate logo on the PP Arnold album cover reminded my of The Jam, then Sheila said PP's song-writing partner also works with Paul Weller and then RRN said PP sand with Steve Marriott who is a huge influence on Paul Weller.

The answer to an early question is P.P. Arnold released it around May of 1967, I believe Cat released it around October of 1967. He wrote it, but P.P. released it first! Patricia Ann Cole.

I lived in Lubbock Texas for 9 months at the beginning of this decade. There was a restaurant there that had photos up of famous local musicians performing on stage. There was a picture of Jimmie Dale Gilmore and Linda Ronstadt on stage together in the early 80s and Linda was wearing one of those digital calculator watches!
