	10:10pm P-90: I know what you mean about Tom Petty’s rise in the age of Punk/New Wave, I’ve never forgotten hearing the very beginning of “American Girl” on the radio for the first time when it was just released. My instant thought was “Oh, what’s this, a new Nick Lowe song...?”

	10:16pm Figgsrock: I believe “Think I’m In Love” is one of the best Top 40 hits of the 1980s. Just pop perfection.

	11:02pm sufferwords: Peace to Kim, a warrior here in Los Angeles forever- per earlier discussion vis a vis what is punk? post punk etc. Everyone confuses punk with a style which it never was, it became a style when bands began to mimic the iconoclasts who adhered to not a musical style but an uncompromising spirit of creativity. Everything the Clash did was punk because they didn’t give a fuck, anyone remember the controversy surrounding Sandinista? A three record set that the label wanted to charge a commensurate price, Clash said fuck that, charge a single album price for it. The Clash fucked themselves for years doing a solid for their fans, punk? oh hell yes!
