Stumbled upon a free outdoor gig in the mid-90s at Jazz at the Lincoln Centre NY. Ferociously intense sax player with trousers ending several inches above his ankles radiating joy and commitment. I remember him mentioning he transcribed Coltrane solos. He took no prisoners. Thanks Doug for reconnecting me to a beautiful afternoon and memory. Respect and thanks to Mr. W and yourself.
