	♥ 5:28pm fred: Many years ago, I spent New Year's day at a museum that had a show about Cremaster. I saw all 5 movies, plus a handful of Drawing Restraint ones. And saw many flags, sculptures, and stuff. I still don't really like Barney's aesthetics (there's something really alien to me, maybe the jock side), but there's something I respect about the scope of his obsessions, it was a day well spent. Also, Cremaster 3 features Guinness.

	♥ 6:31pm Stanley: Linda - it was when I lived in London. We were so spoilt back then. Living in Scotland the past 30 years has been a completely different proposition.
	6:33pm Linda Lee: really? how's that? my best buddy from new york is now a scottish citizen. married & raised a family there.
	♥ 6:35pm Stanley: Talking live music. Not many international acts make it this far north. Great place to live otherwise.
	♥ 6:36pm doctorjazz: In the 80s and 90s Ra and the Arkestra were frequently in clubs in NY. Jazz clubs, punk venues, you name it, and they put on a fabulous show. I caught them whenever I could (had a few bands I would see whenever I could then; The Microscopic Septet, Abdullah Ibrahim, The Roches come to mind).
	6:36pm Linda Lee: @Stanley ~ right. i get that about the name acts. there seem to be good local scenes in glasgow & edinburgh, though.

	6:39pm Linda Lee: the Squat was one of those beautiful venues where good music was good music, of any genre. i really liked it there. i
	6:40pm Linda Lee: think the arkestra were in residence there for a while.
	♥ 6:40pm doctorjazz: Just saw Abdullah Ibrahim and not took long ago The Micros (who come together every few months and I've caught many of those). But, to quote a wise man, "don't get around (that) much anymore"
	♥ 6:43pm Stanley: Linda - Glasgow, more than Edinburgh. We lack the medium size venues. But, yeah, we manage somehow.I saw Neneh Cherry, Andrew Wasalyk and a wonderful tenor singer Lawrence Brownlee in the last couple of weeks. It's festival time, after all.

	♥ 5:28pm fred: Many years ago, I spent New Year's day at a museum that had a show about Cremaster. I saw all 5 movies, plus a handful of Drawing Restraint ones. And saw many flags, sculptures, and stuff. I still don't really like Barney's aesthetics (there's something really alien to me, maybe the jock side), but there's something I respect about the scope of his obsessions, it was a day well spent. Also, Cremaster 3 features Guinness.

I caught them whenever I could (had a few bands I would see whenever I could then; The Microscopic Septet, Abdullah Ibrahim, The Roches come to mind).
