Noise and Syrup proved to me to be a somewhat memorable name :-)

in very hot Bulgaria, we love noise and syrup :)

the heat helps it melt a little and run down the ear better hopefully

I remember you played Jacques Lejeune. I love Jacques Lejeune. That’s all.

melty syrup! I'm in New Orleans in AC (it's above 80 outside at 3am), but it flows ok inside, too...

jeff-m:

Morning. I always think of Israel as quite warm. Is that unusual?

Aloha! - Relaxing start of the week :)

eff-m: i think this is pretty typical (my first time visiting Israel in the summer, but my Israeli sweetie says he moved to San Francisco 30 years ago to steep in some nice, cool fog for this reason)

(oops! dropped the j!)

The one with scissors on the covers? That’s the one to have if you only have one. I went and acquired all of INA-GRM vinyl thirty plus years ago, because I loved musique concrète, and that’s where I fell in love with Lejeune. One of my twenty best albums ever was Lejeune’s =Symphonie Au Bord D'un Paysage=, and that is in that CD collection (on the second disc, I believe). It’s just wonderful. But all Lejeune is worth checking out. Don’t know why he’s not better known.

(or maybe the j melted off?)

jeff-m:

yeah , that's the one. Robot Records puts out some cool stuff so I try and check in with them and that's where i discovered it when they released that.
Avatar 4:49am
Scraps:

I didn’t know Robot Records at all, but every once in a while I tried googling Jacques Lejeune to see if someone had put out his stuff on CD, and I was surprised and very very happy when I landed on Robot Records. I guess I should check out their other stuff....
Avatar 5:31am
Scraps:

Aha! I looked up Robot Records on RateYourMusic (just a start), and one of their recent releases is a 2cd collection of Jean Schwarz (no T), =Year of the Horse and Other Electroacoustic Works 1974-1986=! I also love Jean Schwarz, so I’ll send some money to Robot Records’ way. Thank you! I really didn’t know they had more cool stuff (though I should have....).
Avatar 5:37am
jeff-m:

glad someone finds it interesting :)
most of their stuff aren't such archival reissue type things though...
I have the Jean Schwarz also. It's very good.
Avatar 5:39am

Excellent!
Avatar 5:46am

Yeah, it looks like a lot of their stuff is drone/industrial/Stapleton/Jackman/Ka-spel/etc, which I have limited taste for.... but I’ll at least listen to it.

thanks for listening. Enjoy yourselves and have a good Monday
