Mr Fab i was diagnosed with that c.2005 -aka menier's syndrome; only i was told, and everything i read said it was incurable and progressively gets worse, and often involves gradual loss of hearing.
i felt like i was (uncomfortably) drunk, a few times/week, falling down, and in-between those times was a constant slight dizziness.
i had to stop working.
doctor said no treatment except a drug that might help a little on the worst days, if i take it fast enough. i didn't try that.
i did end up curing it -almost completely.
(i still have occasional slight dizzy spells)

I learned the Tanko-Bushi dance about ten years ago. Couldn’t reproduce it now without a refresher course, but: yes it does include some stylized “shoveling” motions.

If you hum the first few bars of the National Anthem like Mayuko did a minute ago, and imagine a bunch of drunken guys swinging beer steins back and forth above their heads in a drinking hall, and singing a song with that melody, you can easily get the picture.

There is a scene in Paradise View where a man (a former actor?) who dresses in a court or samurai costume drives off in a little utility vehicle with a loud speaker strapped to it, while a woman in the back seat plays a traditional 3 string instrument. I too would like through life with my own personal soundtrack like that.
