Bowie was a big fan! he told Rolling Stone in 95 that they were incredibly important & incredibly good.

But I think "Wouldn't It Be Nice" or "God Only Knows" would have both been smash singles. I guess they were also afraid of any song with "God" in the title, unless it was like, "Praise God" or something.
