When I was a kid, my dad used to take me to a bar on Bainbridge Avenue and East Gun Hill Road once in a while. One time I was given a t-shirt supporting the Tucson Six, six guys from the Bronx accused of attempting to send explosives from Arizona to Belfast. Haven't darkened that corner in a long time.

Occasionally I used to hear terrible (or hilariously terrible) Jewish Orthodox songs that sounded kind of like Kaveret (I guess they were influential) on the Orthodox FM pirates of southern Brooklyn. Currently there's only one though, at 88.7, and it's often just a bunch of Hebrew or Yiddish talk, presumably religious.
