Hello! Listening but not paying attention (catching up on a bunch of mail and forums and stuff). It's always good to have WFMU on in the background. Maybe I'll check the archives later and REALLY listen to the story.

JakeGould:

Nat King Cole was born in the U.S. in Alabama. He is an American.

Seems like Tarantula would be a character ripe to bring back to face ICE troubles en.wikipedia.org...

I am digging the music this week.

Way to salvage a song about a morbidly solipsistic rock star.

Putos is a swear word

Christy!:

OMG I love this so much!! *gush!* Music and story mix is excellent!! I'm dancing while cooking while grooving on the story :)

Old Dave:

Wait a minute. This is the A-political radio as declared by King Ken?
Never let us discuss things political. Period.
  7:44pm
Christy!:

heartbreaking and timely, Nicole. <3
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:44pm
chris:

not political. fact. previous administration was same. please take this time to breathe deeply and know we're all family here.
  7:52pm
John from florham park:

I try not to discuss things political on here, just like Facebook nothing good can come out of it and causes butt hurt feelings
  7:54pm
JakeGould:

The FCC only cares about English bad words, comprende?
  7:55pm
Christy!:

As on FB and other places, the trouble with anything political comes with the comments. So let us not comment, negative or positive, if we think this is political. Let's just enjoy the story. And the music.
  7:55pm
Old Dave:

Pronounced agenda here. I get that Latinos have been played and also now play us.
I work in this mess. Please stop pretending it can be fixed by magic.
We do need to face facts. If there are not one million with deportation papers hiding among
us please explain why they deserve to remain here.
  7:58pm
John from florham park:

Plus don’t want station manager Ken coming down hard on the accu chat
  7:58pm
JakeGould:

@OldDave: If you have a complaint about the content of this story, complain to Ken. But keep in mind that many DJs here make reference to the world outside of the radio, music and creative mayhem. In fact IRL (In Real Life) the show that had this slot prior to this show interviewed more than a few people who could have been considered “political.”

chris:

if we can't learn to once again communicate with each other, even when we disagree, we're screwed. lets relearn listening skills and open our hearts to one another. then, maybe we can do good things again.
  7:59pm
Christy!:

Thank you so much for introducing me to this amazing writer.

Thanks Nicole!

And the TARFU report. Politics are not verboten. And the choice should not be bad politics vs. denial of politics.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:03pm
ultradamno:

Obviously, this was a political story. Good.
