Song to Watch Girls Get Stabbed By?? :)
(I love it.)

This does seem like music you'd want to wave a stiletto and tie around to.

Love this opening song. I need a drink with an umbrella in it. Where’s that pool boy when you need him? Greetings all.

I literally JUST posted that as my favorite track off Rumble: twitter.com...

This set reminds me of my old neighborhood video rental store and its 'Midnight Movie' section. RIP Video Connections.

Wiki says sung by Near, composed by Ivers, written by Lynch en.wikipedia.org...

I've always been under the belief it is Ivers. I think it says it in the end credits.

this ISN'T from a war picture with telly savalas and george peppard?

Devon E. Levins:

Imdb sez: Though "Lady in the Radiator" Laurel Near was an accomplished singer who had performed folk music with her sisters Holly and Timi, when she is seen singing "In Heaven (Everything Is Fine)" she is actually lip-syncing a vocal track of musician Peter Ivers, who composed the song at David Lynch's request.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:34pm
ultradamno:

Yeah, I had always thought it was Ivers singing myself and then I started seeing conflicting things. If it is I imagine they sped up his voice or something.

The recentish reissue of the Eraserhead soundtrack included a bonus 7" that had an unheard, unissued song by Ivers, a spooky organ instrumental.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:38pm
ultradamno:

Wiki's footnotes have more about The Pixies' cover than about the track...so I don't know where they came by it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:39pm
Rich in Washington:

Ivers had a pretty high register voice himself, but he does sound like he's sped up somewhat there. His solo records are a hoot, by the way.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:43pm
ultradamno:

@Rich Sacred Bones put that out, as least two different pressings now.

There's a book about Ivers called In Heaven Everything Is Fine and one about New Wave Theater producer/creator David Jove called Freedom Spy that make for interesting contrasting viewpoints.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:45pm
Rich in Washington:

It's a wonderful package. I've got it.
Keep meaning to read the Ivers book but haven't yet. He was a fascinating figure. Seeing those Best of New Wave Theater segments on Night Flight was life changing for me.

Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Wasn't there some kind of Doc about Ivers & his ambiguous demise ??
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:47pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

NewWaveTheater of course. Had to cling to whatever we could get...stay up for up...ruin our lives & so on...He did wish us a pleasant sleepwalk...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48pm
ultradamno:

A lot of Ivers' Hollywood friends think punks (including some serious speculation regarding Lee Ving) and a lot people think it was Jove (who evidently had a violent temper) and others a random home invader.

I haven't seen a doc about him though there is a pretty good one about Jack Nance called You Don't Know Jack.

Not sure about a documentary, but it seems warranted.

Different cover on the book now, huh.

Loved New Wave Theater. I remember the first time I saw Angry Samoans on there doing Ballad of Jerry Curlan and wondering how this could be happening with no censoring.
