So there's a fiction novel out there called "Destroy All Monsters" by Jeff Jackson. The chapters are titled Kill City and My Dark Ages. Has anyone read it? I'm intrigued because the author must listen to good music but does that translate to good writing?

H'llo and welcome, all! Sorry I'm REAL distracted here today. @tim from champaign, that paperback resides in the woofmooloo. I was as intrigued as you by the title and blurbs; read the opening chapter, sorta nondescript accounting of teens waiting online for an underground punk show. Keep meaning to read another chapter, but...

Thanks Scott. I would read the James Ellroy book too, David. Just think of all the nefarious deeds that could be cooked up in 1970s Detroit!

... Godzilla vs. Iggy ...
  3:36pm

@tim - I think Iggy and Brother Wayne probably did many of them, but I'm sure Ellroy could make up a few more. *Happy face*

@RRN - you're a genius! I think this might be Brother Wayne's most criminal act. I was fortunate enough to see the premier of A True Testimonial in Detroit prior to the lawsuit. Here's another title: Wayne Kramer - A Lifetime of Self-Sabotage.

'Most bands have a Hit Single & go from there. The MC5 never pulled a golden horseshoe out of our ass'...

David in London:

@RRN63 and tim - Oh lord, yeah. I get that he's probably fed up with a lifetime of being ripped off and ending up with Sweet Fanny Adams but Jesus, he ain't gonna live forever, and that film could have helped cement their legacy properly and introduce them to a whole new generation of fans. Talk about long playing the long game. See sense Brother Wayne for pity's sake.
