In Germany there is an old saying that you should have wine after beer and not the other way around. I was never sure about its validity.

I know beer is considered an aperitif to some people.
Avatar 🚂 Swag For Life Member 5:34pm

Beer for a meal, wine for dessert makes sense to me.

Is that the daily 6pm Florida thundershower I remember well?
Avatar 🚂 Swag For Life Member 6:23pm

1948, that's pretty new. Our house is from 1906, I think
Avatar 🚂 Swag For Life Member 6:24pm
chresti:

Although, there's an add on from the 40s
Avatar 6:25pm
northguineahills:

Well, come a few weeks until October, it will be a 3pm daily T-storm. This is influenced from the impeding high pressure system making convection "popcorn" storms. This is just stronger then normal.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:27pm
David D:

That is interesting. I actually remember at one point we called them 4pm thunderstorms (don't remember what time of year and this was South Florida). I didn't realize they varied throughout the year.

In the summer, the ocean breezes from the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic converge. around 2 pm (G-ville is equidistant from either coast), and T-storms occur.
