This show is a musical education. I had no idea Tim Curry had a recording career, just knew him from Rocky Horror
Avatar 3:38am
BronwynB:

thanks kevin :) tim curry made a couple of very theatrical records (of course) in the 70s and also sang backing vocals on a lewis furey song!

The Boat that Rocked - one of my favourite films, cheesy and imperfect though it is. Reminds me of listening to Radio Caroline from the Mi Amigo, out in the North Sea when I was a kid

I think Ellison’s single was only “Stay With Me”, in around 1966

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:23am

Controversial opinion (That I may have shared before?): I prefer the funk driven OST of Hair (The movie) to the stage musicals light rock, I'm sure the stage production is better plot/narrative wise. But, funk4life.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:23am
nostrangerer:

A. Not sure to think about a DJ so bright and effervescent at 4am. B. Sad that the playlist from 3 to 330 looks better than what I've heard since then. C. Sounds like it is getting better. D. Not sure how much longer before I nod out (sleep not drugs well except one beer after finishing a 20 hour work day ) E. Yeah, why should anyone worry about that. F. Thanks for the tunes.

Avatar 4:36am
BronwynB:

@Cmurtha: i totally agree, i've always preferred the movie soundtrack. and while i haven't seen the stage show (only heard the record), i'm pretty sure the movie has more of a plot, apparently the stage show is much more "experimental theatre"

Avatar 4:45am

Wow!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:46am
Cmurtha:

@Bronwyn I've not seen it either, and that's good to know. I don't know if I could sit through a production of it that's just vignettes + that soundtrack. But, I will refrain from judgement. Now, I want to go listen to the film's OST though...

“Marry Me a Little” is better than “Being Alive”, bleah. Making =Company= a Happy musical, sigh

I now associate Selana with the Gay and Wondrous life of Walter Mitty (i think is the name. This song, makes me now want to hear The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and reminds me that I am always subject to extra screening for the rest of my life.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:05am

Selena happily reminds me of Tontanzín from Love & Rockets on that cover.
