My father in law was a real face on the Sixties counter-culture scene in London (pen pal with Lennon, organiser of 'happenings' etc), and to them The Walker Brothers were beneath contempt as 'Californian pretty boy pop stars'. Flash forward decades and I play him The Drift blind in the kitchen one day and say 'Who do you think this is?' When I told him his jaw literally hit the floor. It was absolutely priceless.
