I didn't like the Walker Bros much back during the mid-60s, a bit too soft pop for me then. But his later '60s-'70s records had such seriousness in the lyrics. You could see development of a serious musical thinker. Then later he got very out there. And that stuff is good too.

For some reason I always thought (in latter years) that the Talking Heads song "the Overload" was a nod to Joy Division or some similar. But it probably was really a nod to Scott Walker's "the Electrician)
