	10:05am mic_break: Coincidentally, I was just listening to Gary Burton's "Genuine Tong Funeral" (really another Carla Bley 'stealth' album) this week. Coryell on guitar, with a very different feel. Never heard him in such a Hendrix-y mode as the track you just played (opening song section sounded very Hendrix ballad to me, right down to the drum fills). Search up a 1970s live set from Scandinavian TV, if it's still on there. In the post-Mahavishnu fusion zone.

	11:04am Listener Gregory: Speaking of which, we had a discussion a few weeks back of whether to pronounce Ches Smith's name "chez" or "chess." Well, I went straight to the horse's mouth to find out the answer: Bruce at Downtown Music Gallery.
	11:05am Listener Gregory: I asked Bruce how to pronounce it; he looked at me as if I was nuts; and said "chez"!! Then to prove it, he told me about every group that Smith was in before he moved to NY. I take this as definitive.
	11:07am Jeff Golick: Well, I dunno, @LG. I've met the guy -- he is yoga/dad buddies with my brother-in-law -- and by both of their accounts it is "chess." Might have to have him on the show to sort it out. Or better yet, Dave Sewelson gets him in studio in between babysitting gigs.

	🥁 11:56am doctorjazz: Schapp seems to have a serious illness, but no information is out there that I've seen .He mostly plays "Encore presentations"in his KCR slots, but does live broadcasts here and there . Jeff, I used to play a bit of guitar and an old friend who loved music, for some reason couldn't string 2 notes together in tune. I one got him to shout Sweet Jane in front of a crowd, and he killed it! (it didn't matter that the notes were all over).
	11:56am Dean: Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure there's also an unopened Braxton record. I know for sure that I have sealed acquisitions from a weekend trip to now defunct East Side Records in Los Feliz. I walked out of there with fifty CDs that day.

	🥁 11:56am doctorjazz: Schapp seems to have a serious illness, but no information is out there that I've seen .He mostly plays "Encore presentations"in his KCR slots, but does live broadcasts here and there . Jeff, I used to play a bit of guitar and an old friend who loved music, for some reason couldn't string 2 notes together in tune. I one got him to shout Sweet Jane in front of a crowd, and he killed it! (it didn't matter that the notes were all over).
	11:56am Dean: Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure there's also an unopened Braxton record. I know for sure that I have sealed acquisitions from a weekend trip to now defunct East Side Records in Los Feliz. I walked out of there with fifty CDs that day.
