@ Webmaster Henry -- awwwww that is so wonderful! please give your *elderly* kitty love & cuddles for me :)
LAVENDER also was (still is?) often associated with Lesbian art/culture -- "Lavender Jane Loves Women," The Lavender Express, etc. -- however, i could never find out exactly *why* lavender was chosen for this symbolism (even when i asked the other volunteers with whom i worked at a hotline my last year in college -- eek, almost 40 years ago! we were quite the mixed crowd, yet still, no-one knew!)
"Lavender" is also the name of an absolutely exquisite piece by . . . JANDEK!!! shimmering and ethereal, first time i heard it, thought it was sooooo cool that JANDEK was able to create this (as opposed to his earlier "work," which usually generated responses such as, "PLEASE! MAKE IT STOP!!!" etc.)
