Wow, Fred. Chavez is always on the road, surprised she hasn't crossed your path before.

Paris isn't a good place for shows, many tours don't stop there because of a lack of mid-size venues, and of small ones that do pay enough to make it worth coming
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:22pm

Hello, David, Ruth, the Ridgewood on-the-bus gang, and all, east-coasters, west coasters, roller-coasters, no matter.

Rosenfeld announced theisshow as "generating a composition from an animated video projection-as-score" but I wasn't there so I can't explain.

Hi there, Sem and your UKoasters all.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:26pm

@Fred; you know that has been the problem in Paris since I was touring through the 90s.

I'm fairly predictable .. Looking forward to it!

djazz you embrace a lot of stuff, but I think I've learned what gets you jumping.
Avatar 3:32pm

First time I saw Maria Chavez was on a roof overlooking McCarren Park (above Matchless). Everything had to go up a vertical ladder through a small slit in the roof. Talibam! also played. It was a challenge getting all of the equipment of the musicians up and down , but, we managed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:36pm
fred:

@David: Did you ever stop at Instants Chavirés? I think they opened in the early 90s (though they were, and stil are, in Montreuil)
Avatar 3:38pm
northguineahills:

Don't worry, no one can pronounce my two syllable Scottish/English last name, and it's the same as a famous astronomer who predicted the orbit of a comet.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:38pm
david w:

Gee, Fred, I don't remember that place, though some of my tours with Elliott Sharp were so whirlwind I never knew where I was.
Avatar 3:46pm
still b/p:

Never saw the full Jason and Argonauts. When I was about 8, long before references to the film, to Ray, to the mythology would become more familiar, I recall being subjected to an enthusiastic friend's long, long-ass telling of the whole movie story.
Kids still do that?
Avatar 3:48pm
northguineahills:

Heck, people in NYC pronounce my first name different then down South...………………..
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:48pm
chresti:

still b/p- yes because they've watched it a million times
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:48pm

Since Harryhausen's pre-computer animations have so much charm (and terror!) I imagine kids are still tuned in.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:48pm

@stillp b/p: I've seen the original and the via MST3K.

Avatar 3:52pm
still b/p:

Even eager tedious adults who toss spoilers and scene descriptions don't seem to do that kid thing of trying to relate everything from first to final frame. Though maybe that will be valued and welcome around the post-Apocalypse campfire.

Ha, today we're having liquid snow. What a luxury; the sycamores shine like copper and our street is a shallow creek with leaf-boats in lazy regatta.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:32pm
fred:

The first time I saw McPhee play with Chris Corsano, Corsano was playing shy and far too respectful. So at a point McPhee pulled a chair and sat, making a show of inspecting his saxophone. That worked, short and long term; I've seen that duo twice since and there was no need for that
