@dale: don't they raise money for children burn victims??? (ok, that was tasteless w/ no payoff).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:31pm
dale:

i don't know. the children's hospital ones that showcase the kids with flipper arms and no leg and birth defects is shriner's hospital.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:34pm

I'm going to Golden Fest on Friday for the first time ever (even though I've lived near Prospect Hall for ages)! I'm excited!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:41pm
Dan Bodah:

@ranjit, jealous! It's so good!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:42pm

i used to drive by prospect hall in the 80s and early 90s when it was mainly a cheesy wedding venue.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:44pm
Dan Bodah:

@dale, isn't it still? My kid's middle school graduation was there last year and wow it's gaudy in there! But a great venue for the Golden Fest -- I saw Georgian and Balkan polyphonic singers and amazing groups there a couple of years back.

@dale: in the 2000s/2010s I went to a cool show at Prospect Hall, a wedding (I was invited to), and one I crashed (picnic wine got the best of my friends of mine, it was fun.

“The Grand Prospect Hall” is fine. It’s gaudy for the right reasons. Very old school Brooklyn and a throwback to when that specific part of the “South Slope” used to be very Polish and Eastern European.
