	3:23pm David in London: @Peter from Dover. That must have been phenomenal. Until the advent of a certain video sharing app, common lore always said that The MC5 has only played once in England. Then footage emerged of them live in Aylesbury, near where I grew up, and it’s absolute killer. Tyner even changes the lyrics of Tonight to be “Gotta get down in Aylesbury.” Sadly I was only 4 and so didn’t go. Sigh.

My dad went to the first Alternative highschool in Madison WI in the late 60's early 70's. it was a self segregated combination of disaffected whites and poor black kids... the black kids mostly wanted to call it Malcolm X and the white kids wanted to call it MLK and they settled on Malcolm Shabaz over the objections of the school board.

My dad went to the first Alternative highschool in Madison WI in the late 60's early 70's. it was a self segregated combination of disaffected whites and poor black kids... the black kids mostly wanted to call it Malcolm X and the white kids wanted to call it MLK and they settled on Malcolm Shabaz over the objections of the school board.
