Ridgewood Radio features concert recordings by adventurous bands and experimental musicians and restored archival tapes from private and institutional collections captured at venues large and small across the five boroughs of New York. It is produced by David Weinstein and Outpost Artists Resources operating out of the Ridgewood section of Queens, NY, where you'll find more yellow bricks than on the road to Oz and the cemetery of your choice is never more than a few blocks from home.

Hello, David, Ruth, the Ridgewood cadre, and listeners. Retiring now to the hammock, sleep shades on, ears open wide for the duration.

Welcome, james. And Sem! You have the right idea for this one.

Good afternoon David, Ruth and listeners

Honorable Fred, nice to see you...
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:13pm

You will hear a good bit of Skip LaPlante's homemade xylophones in just intonation. Lovely.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14pm
fred:

It's been a while. Many shows, dance for the most part, with a heavy share going to Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker. I have another dance show next week, then I should be there more often
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:17pm
david w:

Indeed, fred. We can usually guess correctly where you've been! Hope it was all fabulous.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:22pm
fred:

Most of it was, with a highlight being Rain, with Ictus playing Steve Reich's Music for 18 musicians live in front of the stage

This DING climbs above the underdog.

I think this is the first time I've listened to this show, usually am not around computers at this time.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:27pm

That's a wow, fred. And hello to TDK60 and the indefatigable NGH.

It's my old pal Skip! He's going to be auctioning off his chime set for charity, which is made up of all kinds of metallic detritus
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:31pm
Webhamster Henry:

@David are you trying "Audio Hijack" which is replacing "Nicecast"? I just did that too .. it's an interesting transition. It means I have to run a separate icecast server myself, boo.
Anyway, it seems to be working!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:31pm
david w:

Yes, Henry. From forks and spoons to refrigerator bins, all carefully selected in sets and often tuned.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:32pm
david w:

And yes again, Hijack appears to work (exhale).
Avatar 3:33pm
northguineahills:

After 2 hours of w/o internet I'm back. Missed Mary as my phone connection was at one bar and I didn't want to lose all music. I had to go outside, to get a signal just to tune in here (and went back inside once I had a connection)>
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:33pm
Webhamster Henry:

I can't tell you how much I miss going to shows like this.
I could have gone up to the Dreamfest last weekend, but i was up in Troy at the C.R.A.I.V.E. lab, which was inaccessible to me.
Avatar 3:34pm

I almost thought that was Shayna Dulberger listed there.

Skip and I and a few others put on a Microtonal fest at SUNY Ulster back in March.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:36pm
david w:

@TDK60... you've picked an odd one to start with here. I play long sets, but really never 2 hours of one thing.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:38pm
david w:

Che Chen has tuned a 1979 Rhodes electric piano in just intonation for next week's annual DING on 19 Dec. And Skip will be there too.
