	1:01pm Brian in UK: These comps nowadays are real eyeopeners, Hungary, Viet Nam etc. Fascinating music that was recorded despite trying times.

	1:04pm Sem: Found this fascinating "In the late 1950s Kimbrough began playing the guitar in his own style, using mid-tempo rhythms and a steady drone played with his thumb on the bass strings. This style would later be cited as a prime example of hill country blues. His music is characterized by the tricky syncopation between his droning bass strings and his midrange melodies. His soloing style has been described as modal and features languorous runs in the middle and upper registers. The result was described by music critic Robert Palmer as "hypnotic". VIA Wikithingy.

	1:47pm fred: @rw: I don't know anything about vodka, but I heard good things about Potocki, Polugar, and Zoladkowa Gorzka. Not sure how available these are where you are though

	1:56pm Brian in UK: @rw you could always buy a gin, after all it is vodka based. The number of gin producers over here had gone mad in the last few years. Fifty odd new small distilleries opened up last year.

Saw this: The strongest vodka we have ever come across, Balkan 176 comes in a bottle with 13 different health warnings (including one in Braille), mainly because it's at 88% abv. It is produced in Serbia, and is triple distilled and essentially shouldn't be drunk neat, sniffed, held or even owned.

	2:32pm Sem: I feeling is that Cape Breton moonshine run through the radiator of a junked 1971 Ford F-150 is the end of the line. The residual anti-ifreeze is actually the best part of that drink, I have heard.
	2:36pm fred: @Sem: a former co-worker served in the Red Army in Kazakhstan. He told me that on the first day the instruction focused on what kind of anti-freeze was safe to drink, and also a reminder than vodka kept outdoors could freeze your guts and kill you if it wasn't allowed to get warmer indoors first

	1:04pm Sem: Found this fascinating "In the late 1950s Kimbrough began playing the guitar in his own style, using mid-tempo rhythms and a steady drone played with his thumb on the bass strings. This style would later be cited as a prime example of hill country blues. His music is characterized by the tricky syncopation between his droning bass strings and his midrange melodies. His soloing style has been described as modal and features languorous runs in the middle and upper registers. The result was described by music critic Robert Palmer as "hypnotic". VIA Wikithingy.

Saw this: The strongest vodka we have ever come across, Balkan 176 comes in a bottle with 13 different health warnings (including one in Braille), mainly because it's at 88% abv. It is produced in Serbia, and is triple distilled and essentially shouldn't be drunk neat, sniffed, held or even owned.
