Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

I saw "Don't Look Now" in college. Yiiiiiiikes

Dean:

I made short ribs about three nights ago. Was a simple recipe, first time I'd ever used it. Basically, sear the ribs in a Dutch oven until they're nearly done (a minute or two each side), remove to a platter, add chopped onion to the rendered fat for a minute or two, add a couple cloves of crushed garlic, add a cup of beef broth with Worcestshire to taste, bring to a boil, return ribs to DU, add a sprig of fresh rosemary, bring to a boil, then simmer and cover for 2 1/2 hours. I also added a T or so of balsamic vinegar. Pretty yummy.

Dean:

(No need to "bring to a boil" twice.)

Dean, my recipe is very, very close to that.

@ngh trouble is that they cook at different temps and you do not open a souffled oven. Love the stems of cauli and broccoli when steamed. Earthy flavour.

Of course, you gotta have buttery, creamy mashed potatoes to top with the ribs and gravy. Oh, yeah, I added corn starch to a 1/4 cup of the juice to do the gravy thing when the ribs were done.

I saw Canned Heat and John Lee Hooker together at the Fox Theater in Venice. There was a fantastic liquid light show behind them. After the show, I went into the restroom and there was more vomit than I have ever seen splattered on the sinks, walls, floor and ceiling. It looked very similar to the light show.
