	9:34am Dances with Moomins: We always try to have very traditional meal ( usually Saturday after ) so that it feels like 'back home'. Turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed pots and sweet taters. pumpkin pie. Instead of something exotic we go straight back to Jersey! It's exotic for our Finnish friends! Must go rake the forest!
	9:35am Linda Lee: about the eats: i'm lucky enough to have vegetarian ready-meals provided for me from the local YMCA camp. so: early oatmeal breakfast, ready meal later. the opposite of fancy. nothing special. happy for a roof & my autonomy.

	9:37am melinda: In lieu of turkey with dressing I make for myself what I started calling holiday hash: chopped/shredded chicken with onion, celery, sage and pecans. It combines most of the flavors of the cornbread dressing my aunt used to make with poultry in a corn-free single dish. Cranberry-orange relish and if I'm feeling ambitious pumpkin pie.

	9:42am melinda: When I went outside for some morning sun I noticed my collards looked fractured but edible, beneath the snow, so I think I'll have those too. They tend to be tastier after frost.

	9:45am TDK60: Not to get us all down on a feast day, but reminding, while the big countries (US/etc.) spend zillions on war, millions are underfed, even in the US. Not a guilt trip, just a reminder: end all wars; money for human needs!
	9:47am Linda Lee: alas, providing for human needs has no measurable return. ergo the apparent injustice. ('apparent' because there is no justice or injustice to the calculation of corporate sustenance.)
	9:47am PJ: Why does "outsider" mean unskilled? Many of the visual artists I've seen in museums (like the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore) are quite skilled, they just never were formally trained.
	9:48am Linda Lee: i'm not sure 'outsider' means unskilled. afaik it only points to a challenging aesthetic. :-D

There’s a song off Smile that calls out some veggies as well I think. And I second your reminder about the ludicrous way resources are divided up in this country.

	9:54am Granny Spicy Tuna: "Outsider" art (unskilled, intuitive, raw, visionary, etc) mainly refers to the fact that the artist is coming from outside the mainstream institutions of the art world—not trained, no concept of art theory, no reference to what other artists in the art world are considering or expressing. A unique, unrelated expression.
	9:54am melinda: "Outsider" seems to correlate with both aesthetic and lack of institutional training. If you come up through the art school/university system I don't think you get the label even if you do deviate from certain aesthetics.

	9:58am Granny Spicy Tuna: Well, Linda Lee, one could certainly argue that access to institutions is limited to those who do not fall under certain type categories…

Two NY troopers attended a Mohawk meeting. One said, "here in New York State.." and was interrupted with: "we're not in New York, this is the Mohawk nation!"

Turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed pots and sweet taters. pumpkin pie. Instead of something exotic we go straight back to Jersey! It's exotic for our Finnish friends! Must go rake the forest!
	9:35am Linda Lee: about the eats: i'm lucky enough to have vegetarian ready-meals provided for me from the local YMCA camp. so: early oatmeal breakfast, ready meal later. the opposite of fancy. nothing special. happy for a roof & my autonomy.

	9:37am melinda: In lieu of turkey with dressing I make for myself what I started calling holiday hash: chopped/shredded chicken with onion, celery, sage and pecans. It combines most of the flavors of the cornbread dressing my aunt used to make with poultry in a corn-free single dish. Cranberry-orange relish and if I'm feeling ambitious pumpkin pie.

	9:45am TDK60: Not to get us all down on a feast day, but reminding, while the big countries (US/etc.) spend zillions on war, millions are underfed, even in the US. Not a guilt trip, just a reminder: end all wars; money for human needs!
	9:47am Linda Lee: alas, providing for human needs has no measurable return. ergo the apparent injustice. ('apparent' because there is no justice or injustice to the calculation of corporate sustenance.)
	9:47am PJ: Why does "outsider" mean unskilled? Many of the visual artists I've seen in museums (like the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore) are quite skilled, they just never were formally trained.

	9:54am Granny Spicy Tuna: "Outsider" art (unskilled, intuitive, raw, visionary, etc) mainly refers to the fact that the artist is coming from outside the mainstream institutions of the art world—not trained, no concept of art theory, no reference to what other artists in the art world are considering or expressing. A unique, unrelated expression.
	9:54am melinda: "Outsider" seems to correlate with both aesthetic and lack of institutional training. If you come up through the art school/university system I don't think you get the label even if you do deviate from certain aesthetics.
