My previous bad visible-damage experience with one locally was a few years ago when I sped fast on my bike around the corner off Congress onto Weymouth where La Bodega Latina is, and just a few feet down that hill, zoom-POW-hole!!...killed the tire, dented the rim. That hole was fixed later but there are others these days that Shamu and Nessie could swim around in for weeks and never see each other.

The Treme Creole Gumbo Fest returns to Armstrong Park on Saturday, November 17 and Sunday, November 18 from 11a-7:30p both days. This festival is billed as New Orleans premiere brass band showcase and the music lineup reflects it. Admission is free.

That Venus label is a treasure. My understanding is that it operates out of (or associated somehow with) a record store in Japan. I know Tetsuo Hara was a producer, but the proprietor of a stereo store in San Jose that carries Venus product said something about a record store.
