A few years back, I saw Rzewski give an amazing concert-hall-worthy hour-long performance of "The People United" on an upright piano in the upstairs dining area of a local seafood emporium. (He son works at the store.) It was insanely wonderful. The crowd was about 50/50, devoted adorers and lunchtime noshers who'd wandered in for a flounder sandwich.

Yep, here in Pittsburgh. Rzewski had a fancy date in a esteemed venue long scheduled, but the visit to and performance at the fish emporium was a last-minute thing. Somehow, the word got out and I was alerted by a local FMU fan who knew I would dig it. I dug it.

some people (™) say that putting fat in your coffee slows the caffeine absorption, making it a softer ride, so to speak. there does not appear to be agreement on this issue, from my memory of the research I did on the issue some time ago.

My wife puts butter in her coffee. She's on the Keto diet - all fat and no carbs. Like, lots of fat. Bacon and butter basically - no bread, pasta, fruit or really anything else. I think it's gross and I wish I could make a peanut butter sandwich, but she's lost a bunch of weight and her arthritis is less arthritic.
