Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:10am

Too bad it's not on spotify (although I have the Japaense disk it is boxed away). Youtube has it though

DL in LA:

BronwynB, Irwin often recontextualizes jazz for me by playing it next to pop and all the other stuff he plays. But you're doing something sort of more twisted. You're recontextualizing pop and rock for me by playing it next to musicals and the other stuff you play. There are other examples, but one is I'm hearing Meatloaf in new ways since I've heard more musicals lately! Yikes and wow.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:35am
fred:

I hadn't heard this Sisters of Mercy track in ages
Avatar 5:37am
BronwynB:

thanks DL!! i love that!!! one of my goals is to sort of un-other musicals and position them as not a novelty, if that makes sense. and meatloaf totally sounds like musicals which makes sense since jim steinman's first love is musical theatre (he's sort of surprisingly bad at it though)
