Listener comments!

  3:14pm noel:

How many times has that term limits carrot been dangled in front of us.
  3:19pm Flash:

You ok. ? I got bad signal
  3:20pm Al:

@Flash: The Web stream is fine.
  3:23pm Al:

Guitar slashers today!
  3:25pm yoda ah oh:

Dutch band's solution to they couldn't speak English
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...'Hocus Pocus' needs a Cartoon made to it - step up somebody!...
  3:34pm flashbazbo:

Ok. When Bill speaks it's too low. Music is fine now. I'm on iPhone I had a couple minutes of pure distortion. Is it me?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Brought to you today by amEdeo.
  3:42pm white knight:

Avatar 3:53pm Mailman Tom:

A nice twist on Battle of New Orleans!
Avatar 4:02pm Sid:

I used to dream in black and white, but I could dream all day. Would be a doable segue.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:03pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

SuperLungs !
  4:07pm CC:

I forgot to mention how much I appreciated Jaime Brockett and David Amram on your fill in show for Glen and X-Ray, B.K...you rock!!!...:)0(:
Avatar 4:07pm Sid:

I think Terry wanted to work solo, even though it resulted in less fame.
Avatar 4:08pm Mailman Tom:

I always hated the sound of Robert Plant's voice. Terry Reid would have been much, much better!
  4:10pm noel:

The Zeppelin songs would have all have been different and may just have never become a major band and ended up a blip in musically history. Best leaving well enough alone.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:19pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...Hendrix instead of Page...I can do this all day...
  4:33pm noel:

I saw Hendrix 4 times Fillmore, Singer Bowl, Carnegie Hall and MSG. May 68 to June 69. He was way over by then. I hate acts on booze, downers or heroin. Why the Kinks sucked for so many years until they sobered up in the late 80's.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:38pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

@ noel: Wow. Hard to think of being disappointed by seeing Jimi Live...tho' he had lesser & greater nights...Don't know that he was ever into booze or smack much - tho' sleeping pills did him in. Like many Artists - he had to Tour the Hits to pay the bills - which - Sucks...
Avatar 4:38pm Linda Lee:

hello kids! please name this song for me. one of my faves & i can't recall the group! so much for being old enough to remember it new. thank you!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:38pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

TheMove?
Avatar 4:39pm Linda Lee:

hang on. got it. there's a new thing around right now called the Google. it's The Move!
  4:39pm noel:

He was busted just before the concert at MSG in Toronto for 26 balloons full of heroin. Buddy Miles and the rest of them were stone junkies.
Avatar 4:39pm Linda Lee:

thanks Rev! :-)
Avatar 4:41pm Linda Lee:

doing the fall chores right now & the real rock & roll sure helps. thank you Mr. Kelly!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:42pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

@noel: 26?! The ProJimi BioNarrative is that it wasn't his smack...groupies & whatever everywhere...but everybody else was into Downers late60s~early70s around the time of Nixon & the Birth of Metal - &tc....
  4:42pm noel:

When I saw Zep in Feb 69 at the Fillmore I watched Jimi's replacement.
  4:43pm noel:

If you heard the way he played it was his heroin.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:44pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Think of JimmyPage as the Capricorn Producer: JeffBeck's bruther from anutha muther - but going for the Band thing rather than just the GittarPlayer like Beck- as siblings do dif things on purpose - & just their natures...but I'm a WhoFreak anyhow. Zep is great 70sRawk - w/ the Drummer all the Drummers adore...
  4:44pm noel:

What I saw happen in one year was amazing. He went from a god to a jamming junkie.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:46pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Well - well-known Page got into ludes & addiction - but the PR has always been that Jimi was 'above' smack...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:46pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...if Experienced w/ - everything else I suppose...
  4:47pm noel:

Hate drumming and drummers except Keith Moon. Page has the history of backing everyone in Britain. America didn't discover the Who until Tommy. I had memorized A Quick One, Sell Out and Magic Bus as they were released.
  4:47pm Al:

Memories of Tommy Boyce, Linda Scott, Paul Revere and the Raiders, Keith Allison, Steve Alaimo. Those were the days!
  4:48pm noel:

Left Zep behind after the 4th album too much Qualuude and Cocaine and boring stuff.
  4:49pm noel:

Bill YOU RULE FEVER TREE. Thanks
  4:49pm Al:

I imagine Moon in place of Bonham in Zeppelin. It could have happened...
  4:50pm noel:

Moon wasn't a Psychedelic Man he was perfect with the Who They did remain GREAT.
Avatar 4:50pm Sid:

Zep would've broken up two years earlier w Moon.
  4:51pm CC:

Yeah baby!!!...:)0(:
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:51pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

When I picked up TheWho's 1st album in the $1.99 rack in my little town - I coulda been the only WhoFan in the world - far as I knew...
Who & Zep - hadda be exactly those guys. Chemistry - those bands had it.
  4:51pm flashbazbo:

Ok. It was my earphones. They made strange distortions In the stream. I find it hard to believe too. New one on me.
  4:51pm noel:

They should have broken up in 73 when I was at that abomination. NO WE DID REMEMBER LAUGHTER ROBERT but you just SUCKED THAT NIGHT
Avatar 4:52pm Sid:

Pre-Tommy Who had great singles, but they were veddy British. Post-Tommy, they captured the essence of arena rock; then, no turning back.
  4:52pm Al:

I bought The Who Sell Out when it was in the "cutout bin" of a local record store. I paid a dollar or two for it.
  4:52pm noel:

Klein on the Square and Alexanders Cousins on Fordham Road.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:53pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Everybody mentions the VelvetUnderground as Roots of Punk
- but what about TheWho - & U.S.Garage?
  4:53pm noel:

I'm Scottish so I was veddy british then.
  4:53pm Al:

I consider The Who the first punk band.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:54pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

(...for that matter...Howlin'Wolf. Ftw.)
  4:54pm noel:

For that matter the Fugs were the first Punk group.
  4:55pm CC:

Sky Saxon and the Seeds we're pretty early punks not to mention the Hollywood argyles
  4:55pm noel:

the way Lou sings he could have been the first Rapper.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:55pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Fugs! Nice one. On bills w/ the VU...
  4:55pm noel:

Saw them at the Fillmore too. couple of times.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:56pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...everybody Rex plays - who we kiddin'...
Avatar 4:56pm Sid:

Lou sang about being "The Original Wrapper," though he made a condom joke out of it.
  4:56pm noel:

Fugs not velvets.
  4:56pm Flacko:

Will the Playlist come out soon? So many songs I need to add
  4:56pm noel:

I did talk those out.
  4:57pm Al:

@Flacko: A little while after the show ends.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:57pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

BK does his playlists later Flacko.
Avatar 4:57pm Sid:

PLaylist comes out around 7:21 tonight. :)
  4:58pm noel:

Bill may change in mid stream so he keeps it open.
  4:58pm Al:

Great show Bill, I'm glad you're back.
  4:58pm noel:

That song was from the 40's by a texas group.
Avatar 4:59pm Sid:

We ~are~ where the action is.
  4:59pm Flacko:

Name of song that appeared 10 minutes ago? Thx
  5:00pm noel:

adios amigos see you on the Pige.
Avatar 5:02pm Sid:

Adios... companeros.
  10:23pm Bill Kelly:

FYI...I'm of the belief that the Sonics, formed in 1960, were playing hard core punk before anyone thought to name it.
  9:29am what Vero sang:

Angry black man, something here's not right
every time you appear, the light darkens
I hear voices that tell me
angry man, angry black man
don't come back here again, never come back here again

Angry black man, your face is ______
____________-__________________
I hear voices, that tell me
angry man, angry black man,
____________, never come back here

Are you __________, or do you only know the night,
to me you're not palpable, I feel your power
you stand with me before the mirror, but I can't recognize you
if you don't leave now, then we will be killed or burned
angry man, don't come to me
angry black man, __________
I hear voices, that tell me
angry man, angry black man
don't come back here again, never come back here again
angry man, angry man, angry man, angry black man
  11:41am the titillating translator:

I'm leaning more to "mean" as the song's intent of "böse." Google Translate also suggests evil, wicked, vicious, and nasty . . . . for "schwarz," too. However benign the intent, singing "schwarze Mann" is ill-advised.
  12:24pm Sunday's Heidi game:

With merely 16 seconds remaining in the game and the Bengals on their game-winning drive, channel 2 switches to the Giants game, "by contractual obligation."
  11:34pm BK:

Shyste!...it's the best track on the album. The English language version on the Kornelius Flowers LP, on which Veronique De La Chanson performs, is entitled "Evil Head".
Swag For Life Member 3:59pm Peapeagirl:

Must say the look of the Velvets were punk & beyond. Maybe more Avant- garde in sound live than Punk. But as time passed Lou & John on their own were major anchors in the punk circuit.
Whatever, The Battle Of New Orleans, my god, in
thats' all I could hear listening to, The Battle Of Kookamonga. The memories from childhood are choking.
  7:01pm Vero:

"Böser schwarzer Mann" is about a dark mysterious person who turns out to be a vampire. Attractive, but dangerous, irresistable :-)
  2:35pm translator:

Oh, she's singing about BLACULA
