@Beast of Boontoon: I can smell my breath and it drives me insane sometimes. It's why I always have breath mints and gum, and I don't even have halitosis.

Jeff Moore:

Something recent — was it the Pram song? — did that thing where you wonder if the band was incorporating sounds which sound just like a failing CDR or if there was actually a CD on the verge of not playing at all. Made me nervous. I never did figure out which it actually was.

Itzall Ablurr:

My wife is so clean I... well it's all hyperbole today right?
  1:25pm
JakeGould:

@Jeff: You know there is a whole subculture of the noise world that records audio to CD-Rs, damages them in some way (scratching, melting, etc…) and then experiments with different CD players to see what the DA converter does to that.

Kids nowadays.

D. Lightfoot:

An impression I have had on here scores of times now: I hear something that sounds like it's maybe some "unearthed" artist from the early 70s (a la Rodriguez or Sybil Baier) or maybe one I just haven't heard of before, and I Google it to find out it just dropped on Bandcamp this year—leading me to believe there's just tons of what you might call "hot dog" music (tasty but derivative) being cranked out by hundreds of homage artists and sonic archaeologists.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:03pm
Phillippe Bastille:

I like it that Pseu occasionally reminds me what a freaking music snob I can be. I usually forget that a song that is popular can also be good. Or not.

Guilty pleasures are the test of a band. I was in a band once that only played guilty pleasures. One of the guys did refuse to play Jethro Tull, though.

I think listening "ironically" is just lying to yourself. I actually like Tull, Journey, Styx, a little bit of Rush, and yes, some of the more esoteric stuff played on FMU like Horse Lords, 75 Dollar Bill, Dirty Beaches et al. But Led Zeppelin? I need another ten years to cleanse my pallette of Physical Graffitti. I am just SO TIRED of it. I like The Troggs, Them and The Animals who were all mainstream bands back in the day also.
Avatar 2:11pm

@D Lightfoot Stick with the beaters. My eldest son has a small independent dealership so he can go to dealer auctions. We haven't spent more than $3K for any of our vehicles. Somes don't last too long (the Saab that gave it all up after 3 months), somes are go for years (Chevy Silverado, almost 200K on the drivetrain)
