Well, the Bulgars did become culturally Slavs over the millenia.

I'm as wasp as they come (w/o the blue blood, unfortunately), and of course I heart this!

I muse that every truly distinct Culture has a different Imago Mundi (Model of the World) - correlating to a distinct Metaphysics
- relating to a specific approach to Musical Scales / Intervals;
...this being where East meets West - I think it makes a very interesting example (the 'West' is said to roots in Greece for instance...but how much are we really the same??)
...& - I always go for old traditional tribal village ritual community stuff...

Last year i had the good fortune to attend a magical show by Le Mystere des Voix Bulgares in our Dom church... there was a near stampede as so many people wanted to enter. Why are not many more groups and singers from the Balkans touring?

@yi: It's not proper to put your feet up on a ottowomen.

/or we can debate if Otto Von Bismark changed gender identities....

@Richard S: Good point. Maybe it's more up to organizers?

@Bas, in the case of the US of A, i fear our borders are becoming more difficult for artists to pass thru

@Michael: It's always been hard for musicians to get access to the US. I know so many people turned back at the airport.

Has the Donkey Drunk Water seems to be a universal song theme (content, not music).
