  12:07pm Brendan:

RIP Lester, taking the long nap.
Avatar 12:08pm northguineahills:

Damn, Lazy Lester! :(
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13pm Matt Fiveash:

Wow never heard this 2001 Lester before. It's great!
Avatar 12:14pm Joe B:

the whole Lp is great!
Avatar 12:15pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

They call him Lazy but he's just tired.
Avatar 12:17pm TheLoneliestMonk:

@JoeB yes! i was just thinking some early TBirds would fit in nicely here
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:17pm Matt Fiveash:

The first Ponderosa Stomp after Katrina (2007?) I got to hang out and drink with Lester at the Circle Bar and play him a couple of my favorite George Jones tunes on the jukebox. It's a blurry memory I will always cherish...
Avatar 12:21pm Rocky Horror:

:)
  12:21pm Jeff formerly from Rahway:

Hiya Joe! Great running into you this weekend.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23pm suzyhotrod:

Did a Gieco commercial just somehow pollute the stream...?
Avatar 12:24pm Rocky Horror:

Yes suzyhottod it did
Avatar 12:25pm Rocky Horror:

@suzyhotrod: you can blame Joe B for that
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:25pm suzyhotrod:

SuzyHotTodd is the new band me and Todd O Phonic are starting, sponsored by Geico
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 12:25pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Likely so, but keep your insurance with your present company.
  12:26pm Brendan:

That wasn’t just any commercial but a Lazy Lester one. Old blues musicians finally gettin paid. Also good to see Lester was vindicated just before he nodded off : https://nypost.com/2018/08/23/scientists-suspect-evolution-favors-the-lazy/

I knew he was onto something....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:30pm suzyhotrod:

Ooooooh. I had the stream on in the back at work and wasn't closely enough listening to hear that it was by choice. carry on. -Suzy HotTub.
Avatar 12:31pm northguineahills:

Jejeje, suzyhotrod!
Avatar 12:31pm Joe B:

not only was i dumb enough to once do a remote broadcast at a place with no beer, but I play commercials for no money
  12:31pm Dungaroos Kipawah:

Thanks Joe, this is hitting me where I live. A fitting tribute
Avatar 12:31pm Joe B:

greetings all, thanks for tuning in!
  12:33pm andrew Forbell:

Why is Joe playing so much Lazy Lester???....Oh shit... did he die?..... check google.... shit he did died. I had the opportunity to open for him one time long ago at the Nightshift in Naugatuck CT He will be missed!
Avatar 12:40pm Rob from NM:

Hola a todos from NM USA, fn great show Joe Bee. I'm just back from recording in South Memphis, took a little trip down to Clarksville Fri & Sat and met Terry Harmonica Bean who said, "if you want to play like Lazy Lester you gotta take that harmonica behind the shithouse and blow until you can 'sound like sumpin'". I guess I gotta build a shithouse, now.
Avatar 12:50pm northguineahills:

cool andrew!

I love it when Joe surprises us, and it happens often....
  12:59pm Nate K:

Hey, Joe. I missed the Lazy Lester tribute, damn.

  1:20pm Dungaroos Kipawah:

Avatar 1:20pm Joe B:

no, thank YOU, DK!
  1:22pm McGreivey:

Thousand$Car: love the drums in this, and the rest. I had to wake up from my nap to see who it is.
  1:31pm Dungaroos Kipawah:

I had same reaction to Queen song--hey I like this, who is it? Queen?! Why do I only know their awful warhorses? This one's good.
  1:34pm Nate K:

According to the band's Twitter account that Wax Idols tour was just cancelled and the band is on "indefinite hiatus." Heather is playing solo at Elsewhere. Did you cover that or is this late-breaking news?
Avatar 1:35pm Joe B:

thanks nate did not know that. bummer
  1:36pm Nate K:

I think it was just posted. EFD retweeted it. Crazy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:03pm Mike Sin:

Great show today, Joe!
Avatar 2:10pm Joe B:

thanks Mike!
Avatar 2:13pm northguineahills:

off to lunch, thanks Joe!
Avatar 2:19pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

Queen is "prog rock" like Pink Floyd "is". Kinda like pop prog for the masses. Still, Queen is really good, I am just so tired of them. My 14 year old is crazy about them. Sick and tired of Queen war horses also. Forget classic rock radio, they stopped playing deep cuts 20 years ago. Forget Gloria by Them or Wild Thing by The Troggs. No more. Or The Animals or an unusual Who song. Its ALL preprogrammed from a library of 200 songs or so if you are lucky. Bleh.
Avatar 2:20pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

This ELO is off the hook though!
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 2:22pm Jeff formerly from Rahway:

Let's hope ELO revisits NYC and NOT when I am on vacation!
  2:24pm Chi Bill:

As long as we don't forget Queens early stuff like so many bands (ELO, Rod Stewart/Jeff Beck, UFO, Jethro Tull...and all these bands I first heard on WFMU)
Avatar 2:25pm Rocky Horror:

@Jeff formerly from Rahway: Love your rockin R2
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 2:26pm Jeff formerly from Rahway:

@Rocky Horror beep boop tweet thank you!
  2:26pm McGreivey:

I suddenly want to hear one of the long tracks from the Move's Looking On. I suppose it's too late to fit it in.
Avatar 2:27pm Rocky Horror:

Welcome Jeff
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:30pm Bismuth Wizard:

I went to the Tuesday ELO show, so amazing. Telephone Line got me out of my seat.
Avatar 2:30pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

I have Incense and Peppermints album. Pretty good actually!
  2:30pm Tim from LH:

Listener Tim went, I loved it, even from the cheap seats.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:30pm The Oscar:

Snopes says yes: www.snopes.com...
  2:33pm Tim from LH:

For The Overture was a highlite, thanks for playing it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:39pm Parq:

Joining for the last reel. Digging the R&RHS GIF on the home page. I always related to Mr. McGree.
  2:46pm Nate K:

Zats, I just realized former Fabulous Thunderbirds' Jimmie Vaughn's brother Stevie Ray Vaughn died in that helicopter crash on this day in 1990.
Avatar 2:56pm Rocky Horror:

Great show joe B
  2:58pm Cooh John:

What state in Franklin county?
  2:58pm Dungaroos Kipawah:
