I agree with BillyJam. This isn't music I would normally seek out on my own based on the types of music that are my personal favorites but I've been loving every bit of the shows that I've heard.
Avatar 5:15am
BronwynB:

thanks so much jkeigh :D i feel like that is what wfmu is all about, introducing people to music they wouldn't otherwise be drawn to and im glad to be part of it :)

When I was interning in the Capitol building back in mid '90's, I scored a bunch of those Ultra-lounge cd's.

@Howard F - u interned in the Hollywood Capitol Records building in 90's? If so I first visited that iconic tower building in the 90's when had a friend who worked there - I remember all the Beatles gold records in the lobby
Avatar 5:34am
Howard F:

@BillyJam: Yeah, I was in publicity in the summer of '94. I remember walking in circles just for the hell of it! Cool building.
Avatar 5:38am
BronwynB:

i used to pass that building all the time when i lived in LA but never got to go inside!
  5:39am
BillyJam:

@Howard F - yeah a really cool building! So did that lead to a job in music biz or just a good experience to draw from?

Hi Bronwyn great show it's been a treat I'm really enjoying it - beats Sunday night TV in Australia but geez sorry that's not much of a compliment. All the best - Dave. This Tinariwnen songs is so cool.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:48am
fred:

I haven't seen Tinariwen in many years, but they were a great live band back then. I guess they still are, their shows just got too expensive for me
  5:53am
BillyJam:

wow there are so very many WFMU - LA people connections - and now two more to add - Matador is a good label to work at -Earlier today I was watching videos with a Matador band Algiers.Noticed how on YouTube their average video view number is only 30K - when they deserve so much more - while some of these other music videos get a million views in the first four hours of publishing on YouTube - Anyways - thanks for killer show Bronwyn B - caught last half live - and will listen to first half Monday in the WFMU archives -

Wow, ELISABETH WALDO on the playlist? . . . lemme see Advanced Search . . . Surprise - she's been played by 7 deejays . . . And, omigosh, Bitslap with KBC OPENED his New Years show with an Elisabeth Waldo cut in tribute to the 50th anniversary of the New Years Day that Nightbird Alison Steele introduced it as her opening theme
  12:30am
Forgot!:

Elisabeth Waldo recently turned 100, on June 18.
Sister Janet was cartoon voice of Judy Jetson, Josie of the Pussycats, and Penelope Pitstop, and played the teenager infatuated with Ricky Ricardo ( "Keep jiggling, Peggy" )
