dunkin donuts was fair when i was little. each shop made them on premises each day and they had maybe 25-35 different kinds. now they're made by machines and shipped in and they've gotten rid of at least 1/2 the flavors.
...and their coffee is shit.
- not my favorite place!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:41pm

A fresh DD plain glazed was always good. I don't know why people like their coffee, though. Tim Horton's either.

@Stanley: A venue in Paris pretended to have Guinness on tap. The bartender went to a fake tap and opened a can. I know that sound very well and was neither fooled nor pleased. I've missed many promising shows there because of this. I can hold a grudge when the offense gets at spiritual/religious sacraments

I believe Guinness is also made in Nigeria (and Kenya, when I was there in the eighties). Funny drink, Guinness. My old man loves it and living in France can't get it on tap where he is. Looks forward the Irish Pub in Lanzarote each year. Talking of which, recently got a message from a pal at the 'Irish Pub' in Dubai airport! Says it's the most he's ever paid for a pint of Guinness in his life.

@Stanley: Where does he live? I'm in France and can get fussy about where I get mine. From what I heard (from a cashier at my local store) Guinness in Cameroon is much stronger, like 8% alcohol. Also it's rare on tap there, mainly bottles in exotic products specialty stores
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:33pm

Bill, you made me laugh about Budgie being big in Poland. I was just thinking of my high school days in Warsaw circa 1974, listening to Budgie. We loved it but thought it must have been very commercial and imagined everybody and their aunt on the west side of the Iron Curtain must listen to them...

Hey Filip. Nope, I found a few of their albums in the cut out bins for cheap here in the US - it was where music that didn't sell would go to die. Discovered a lot of good bands that way. Pretty big in England - I know they headlined the Reading Fest a few times.

Filip:

Yes, I figured that later when i traveled abroad... Funny, but nonetheless they are a great tight band.
Another record comes to my mind, from around the same time, from a band that I've never heard off outside of Poland and I think they were British or German: UFO, : Flying, One Hour Space Rock, a spacey guitar driven sound... Then I liked it, not sure what I would think now...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm
fred:

Was that from Olivia's premium? I'm so looking forward to it, I love her show
Avatar 2:18pm
Bill Mac:

Hi Fred, yes it is.. she must've done some work on this.
Avatar 2:21pm
Bill Mac:

@Filip Funny, there were several versions of that band - the one you're talking about is the early one, with Mick Bolton on guitar, the second and more popular one was with Michael Schenker on guitar. They had a lot of hits on US radio during the 70s. There might still be a version of that group still performing
