Hughie, I happened to be in a record store on Sullivan street one afternoon, when he walked in. I recognized him,but had to have the store guy remind me of his name. That record store (Second Coming, I think it was called) is long gone, and so is the New York that I walked that day.

Ouch, @kp @Parq, I know that gone stretch well because i return to it in my mind often. I remember when one of the managers at St. Mark's Sounds opened his own CD shop across the street from Sounds, because you couldn't not make money selling CDs, even on a street with five other CD shops.

Stan Lynch was the first rock n roller I met and talked to. We were on a flight to Binghamton NY where they were doing an enormo-dome show with bob seger and journey. He ordered a scotch and a coffee and was friendly as hell to a 16-year-old asking him a bunch of questions.
