As so often happens with me, I've fallen in here via the trap door. Good evening, Gary. First time, I think.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:13pm
Gary:

Hey there, βrian! Grab a beer and let me know if you need anything else
Avatar 7:16pm
βrian:

Thanks, but I'm all tangled up with a racy little bottle of Piquepoul at the moment, and I want to be polite.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:17pm
Gary:

Now you've piquepouled my interest ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:18pm
Gary:

Okay, see, that right there? That is why I should not attempt previously unrehearsed puns.

@Gary: I do not agree. Please carry on and sally forth.

Laos, the most densely mined nation in the world.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:34pm

I'm going back there next year, this time to see the Plain of Jars

@NGH: But no copper or platinum, I'm guessing.

(not those sort of mines, βrian! ;)

As I listen, I'm watching a young girl throw herself into cartwheels on the lawn across the street. The young girl on *this* side of the street — walking with her parents — is watching her, spellbound.

I haven't successfully performed cartwheel in 11 years. "Successful "even then might even be a stretch.

Digging this! Now I want some Lao chow (now, where do I find some?)

@NGH - are you saying "How now Lao chow"?

A bit of a hike from where I am... (but we have Vietnamese and Malay places).

Then you gonna super love the stuff from Jal Bin Maachhli -- will play another track from this incredible soundtrack later in the set
  8:24pm

Lata’s voice tends to buzz through the speakers, tho
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:25pm
Gary:

The recording quality of most of this stuff is regrettable, for sure
  8:27pm
chresti:

It’s as if the vocals were over amplified at times
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:27pm
Gary:

Definitely, yes
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:29pm
Franco Twinkie:

Gary, this shit is strictly top shelf. It transmits nicely through the screen door out to the front porch. But I have to keep running back inside to check the screen. Incredible!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:30pm

Laxmikant-Pyarelal do not disappoint!

Haha, OMG, that's amazing, Chresti! ... hi there, coelacanth∅!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:11pm

Saw Scratch a few years ago on the Santa Monica Pier. It is safe to say he occupies his own universe of exalted wierdness -kind of like Wild Man Fisher for todays discriminating music lover.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:13pm
Gary:

Franco, meet Chresti -- were you krazy kids at the same event?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:15pm

That was around ‘12- when we could still stand up for 2 hours
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19pm
Gary:

Haha, busted!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:20pm
coelacanth∅:

Lee definitely lives in his own world. very close-minded in sexual matters in general (like any real rasta i guess) but i too remember him ranting about white pussy when i saw him at wetlands. his main concern though was the arc and that it was arson and that no he did not do it. it got maddeningly tedious and the band was clearly bored waiting.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:22pm
Franco Twinkie:

We saw him once in Hollywood with Scientist. It was so loud I'm still suffering the effects.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:23pm
coelacanth∅:

it must've been good though.
- i'd love to see him with mad professor.
  9:24pm
chresti:

He does tend to rant. But then they jump into a version of war ina Babylon to lively things up
Avatar 9:24pm
hyde:

this one is one of my favorites
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:25pm
Franco Twinkie:

It was indeed. good music can make you forgive a lot of otherwise unfortunate personality disorders.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:26pm
coelacanth∅:

when i saw him he stopped several times to rant. if it was 3 hours (i don't really remember) he ranted for 2.
  9:29pm
chresti:

I remember Bob Dylan rendering songs unrecognizable during a live performance
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:30pm
coelacanth∅:

true Twinkie. i'd give him another shot for sure. i have over 15 of his albums. (not counting all the productions....Max Romeo; Junior Byles...etc) he's a musical hero.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:31pm
Franco Twinkie:

On the same hold the audience captive trip I once saw Arthur Lee at the Whisky go on forever about New York Shitty. Sorry all you folk in NY.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:31pm
coelacanth∅:

now Dylan is someone i have many albums by but have never seen - and would never go see - unless it was free ...and local!
