Ridgewood Radio features concert recordings by adventurous bands and experimental musicians and restored archival tapes from private and institutional collections captured at venues large and small across the five boroughs of New York. It is produced by David Weinstein and Outpost Artists Resources operating out of the Ridgewood section of Queens, NY, where you'll find more yellow bricks than on the road to Oz and the cemetery of your choice is never more than a few blocks from home.

My wife has had a crush on Jim O'Rourke since she was in HS. She was jealous after I told her I met him quite a few times when he lived in NYC.

And now O'Rourke has (allegedly) stopped performing and turned to filmmaking. Though he puts out "sound pieces" now and then. Unless my news is old...

Great track, this Metzger!
John Zorn is doing one of his Village Vanguard shows Sunday May 20 matimee (just after my birthday), "new works for classical soloists and rhythm section including the secret premiers of AUTO-DE-FA and THE CONQUEROR WORM". Anyone know anything about this program?

Ed Bear and Barry Weisblatt. I love those guys!

@doctorjazz: I tried to get some info for you but my effort failed. I do know Zorn has been working on musical profiles on a new set of characters including Hilma of Klint. With great players of course.

@ngh: you have picked the two mad geniuses (the rest are just plain brilliant)

Thanks, David! Much appreciated!
One of these days I need to get to the Outpost-most of the shows are Thursday nights, when I usually work until 9 or so, not possible to make a show in Queens (then commute back to Joisey).
I'll keep my eye out, though.
