But what's the definitive version of Institutionalized?
Avatar 🧩 Swag For Life Member 4:59pm
Matt from Springfield:

@fred: Several DJs and hosts recorded versions a few summers ago, we can start there... :)

Was it Storck who recorded a French version of it? Any version screamed by a little girl would certainly be the tops for me :)

Rev. Turnip Druid:

Powwow song in there. Groovy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:02pm
Scott Williams:

My favorite "Institutionalized"s were Thomas Storck's French version (HEY BUDDY) and The Use feat. Audrey Rose (who, btw, is not a child)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:03pm
Scott Williams:

Good catch, Rev! Black Lodge singers in the mix
Avatar 🧩 Swag For Life Member 5:03pm
Matt from Springfield:

Workin' on a pow-wow thing, nice. Trippy-groovy thing too.

@Scott: YES! I was thinking of that version (just found it on your Jan 9 2017 'list). Not a child, but I love that same vibe (I suggested we finally found our "Inauguration headliner"!)

That whole record looks snake-themed. I must have it.

The powwow groups = the only thing I miss from living out west. Killer stuff. Bad Medicine would belt out a contest song that could fell an army.

fred:

That track reminded me of A Tribe Called Red. I don't like all of their stuff, but they had a "burn your village to the ground" track that was chilling

Ah, authentic '84, love that "harsh" pre-Midi sound of synths. Electric guitar tones taped, plugged in and synthesized perhaps?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:09pm
Rich in Washington:

saw a cool DJ/VJ set by a dude called Jackson 2Bears and it was amazing. Very aggro 1st Nations style hip-hop, sample heavy stuff.

This Klaus LP does indeed remind me of walking past the organ store at the mall. Yes.

@ngh beer at work time here as well. god bless.
Avatar 🧩 Swag For Life Member 5:22pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Rich: With advances in VR, hopefully we'll have a virtual "organ store" you can walk into and browse, and hear all the old Hammonds and such.

What was the biddybiddybiddyboppy song that was playin a moment ago? Just two tracks back now?

Rich in Washington:

@Matt from Springfield: my mall's organ store was right next door to Hickory Farms, so as long as I can have cheese samples from trays held by hostesses in Tyrollian attire, I say yes to those advances in VR technology.

Sweet, Rich! We can also pass food back and forth here once we finally upgrade the AccuPlaylist™ to the long-anticipated SnackuPlaylist™! :)

fred:

@Matt: With Thiel and his Palantir in control, that organ store is coming soon. Though I guess ours will be for sale
Avatar 🧩 Swag For Life Member 5:30pm
Matt from Springfield:

@fred: So long as we have an emulator of the organs tones (may have to license them if they're still under copyright), I think you should be able to purchase an organ, "drag" it home, while the emulator is downloaded to your own software. "Play" the organ anytime!

Love these 60 clarinets, but I think the boat is out of tune. Perhaps a little more sharp??

Wow 60 Clarinets! Listened to Sean McCann interviewed on the Free Form Freakout podcast over the weekend. He talked a bit about Morrow and the process of editing this record.
