@Brian from Maplewood: Looks like you'll be on the cityside slope of Mt. Hope. If you can make it downcity, I highly recommend Ken's Ramen on Washington. The 36-hour broths there are mind-blowingly good. And you can stop in at Trinity Brewing on Empire for a Screamin Viking (if they have it), the best beer I've ever tasted.

@WFMU listener WADE ~ indeed they do, in many ways. not a lot, but we don't need a lot either. we piece things together. much of our economy depends on summer city visitors. this is a unique place, because there's next to no development ~ we provide the drinking water for 3 metro areas, including nyc, so development is restricted. that means we're close enough to new york to provide a totally different experience for travelers & vacationers, but far enough away too.
