The store I worked at never did the RSD thing-- way too expensive, and you don't even get to select the records you want. People still came in droves, though-- even without the exclusives, we'd still do 2 or 3 times usual business that day.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm
fred:

Good afternoon Sheila and all
Another annoying side effect of the vinyl revival and limited reissues is that musicians with a smaller audience have a harder time pressing records. Delays can be unpredictable and months longer than usual if a deep pocketed label comes and hogs the production capacity
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm
Adrian in London:

I'm after Sevda plus the David Sylvian rerelease of Secrets of the Beehive. But that's thirty-three sodding quid! Come on! That's four gigs!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:30pm
Adrian in London:

Mind you, if you wait a year or two, many of the things you buy for big £$€ on RSD are available for a pittance on Discogs

@Fred-I wonder if the same situation exists for CDs. I would think CDs are cheaper to produce than LPs. Anybody know for sure? Personally, as a guy who can sometimes hook up his phone to the stereo (but not the computer easily) nor a turntable to use for a $20 record, I would much rather use a CD. Yeah, Discogs for used CDs is usually a pretty killer deal.
Avatar 3:45pm
Cecile:

Djsheilab - is French fun truly light and fluffy?
I watched a couple of German crime shows tagged "light and fun", and basically it was the same old Teutonic angst and gore, but with a little more stiffly delivered "banter" from the principals.
