Al Hirt's version of Java is a bit of childhood soundtrack.

Is this show an all love song fest dedicated to your wife? Boy she must be really lucky. You’re a real catch!

OK, maybe it was Dan at Home of the Groove. It all kinda runs together after all these years. A happy problem to have!

Can't have too many great New Orleans records running around in your head!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19pm

I don't think I ever posted Whirlaway as a standalone track, only in mixes

Someone seemed to take a shine to the Stones cover of Fortune Teller, because I heard it on a Boston FM station a number of times in a certain period in the 70s...more than I'd expect -- an unusual choice for the exposure.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I remember the Katrina benefit concert at MSG, when Jimmy Buffett shocked the hell out of me by playing Fortune Teller

Forgot to say holas, Larry. Got back earlier from dropping off the missus at the Orlando airport and drove back north. Will have hit the blog for the Allen Toussaint mix!

My favorite Whipped Cream mashup/remix was Evolutionary Control Committee's "Whipped Cream/By The Time I Get To Arizona".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:35pm

I'll have to look for that!

Just saw a note about Toussaint writing Fortune Teller as "Naomi Neville." I'd forgotten about the pseudonym business.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37pm
Funky16Corners:

A large portion of the records in tonight's show were written under that very psuedonym
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:39pm

Listen for Toussaint with the whooo whooooos in this one
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:55pm

I misspoke, the Stokes track was reused for the flipside of I Feel Good, The Word Game
