Mike Campbell
(More info...)
Mike Campbell played guitar with Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers for the duration of their career and was also involved in writing many of their pivotal songs. His new autobiography, "Heartbreaker" (Grand Central Publishing), is a vivid recollection of his time spent with the band and much more. Mike currently performs with Mike Campbell and The Knobs.
Sat. Mar 29th, 3pm - 6pm:
Logan Ledger / The Lotts
(More info...)
Bay Area musician Logan Ledger writes beautiful and stately songs. With roots in country, bluegrass and folk, Logan states that "I've always believed that in order to create something new with purpose, one must be steeped in the past and work from within the tradition". A Rounder Records recording artist, Logan will be appearing at Skinny Dennis in Brooklyn on March 25th. The Lotts hail from Warrington in The United Kingdom. The 4 piece combo plays a wild amalgamation of wild 60's garage and 70's punk that creates something uniquely their own. Their amazing live show is not to be missed. Catch them at Ghosthawk Brewery in Clifton on March 26th and be sure and grab their new 45, "Zero Zero"/"Stop And Think It Over" on Swelltune Records.
Dave Alvin
is best known for his work with The Blasters. The Blasters stormed out of Downey, California in the early 1980's on the basis of such great songs as "Marie Marie", "Border Radio", "American Music" and more. After leaving The Blasters, Dave went on to perform in X and The Knitters, as well as having an illustrious solo career. On 4/19 Liberation Hall Records releases the 5 LP set: "The Blasters: An American Music Story - The Complete Studio Recordings 1979-1985".
Todd-O-Phonic Todd Show regulars Dirty Fences return to the show to perform what will no doubt be another scorching live set. Don't miss their paen to WFMU and The Three Chord Monte program, "911". Catch Dirty Fences opening up for The Spits at Xanadu on April 9th.
Sat. Apr 19th, 3pm - 6pm:
John Oates
(More info...)
John Oates is one half of the bazillion selling pop duo Hall & Oates. Emanating from Philadelphia, John grew up with the Philly radio of the 1960's as exemplified by such DJ's as Jerry Blavat and Georgie Woods. With his partner Daryl Hall he became part of one of what is likely the most popular musical duo of all time. His solo work leans into the blues and folk music that were early influences upon him. John performs at Sony Hall in Manhattan on April 23rd.
Hey there Todd - Listening at the shop; great soundtrack for the wine & spirits buying public! Never really been a Breeders fan, but dug that rather faithful rendition of Gates of Steel - pretty great!

no guests? I thought this was supposed to be the big day with Mr. Personality himself....? NO? Maybe next week ;)
@efd: Makes sense, sounds a lot not only like "Sooner Or Later" but also "Love's Melody".

Hey, Todd. The "Time and Time Again" Dinizio tribute is being live streamed on thebasie.org -- it's sold out, and it's gonna be swell. Rest in Power, Pat.
@Joe B: If that's not what I said it's what I meant to say, so it still counts!

Wow! Thank you Todd-o-phonic Todd!! That absolutely needed to be said and you said it well. Let's all of us commit to making the same statement in our words and deeds over the next 11 months.
You were correct in the first place. Your political views should not be expressed on the air.

Wall Street shut down Cabelas in western Neb, which voted heavily for younowho. 100+ jobs gone to make America great again for stock holders. Those jobs are off shore now.
Todd: Not everyone who listens to WFMU shares your liberal political views.
Insulting them will not increase your listenership or financial support for the
station, it will have the opposite effect. Better leave the commentary to the professionals at CNN.

Howdy Todd n' All. Thanks for heating up things via the FM. Still acclimatizing after a month in SE FLA. You make being back in the F-ing ANY Icebox tolerable!
I came in late to the party, but I will just say whatever Todd said that sparked a political kerfuffle? I support it. i like Todd and trust his opinion!
