@Batman: I'm just recovering from AnimeNYC last weekend. If I hadn't been sharing booth space with a couple of friends I never would've gone. I hate doing shows at Javits! How have you been? Been a while since we ran into each other.

I sell old school anime & tokusatsu stuff. '70s & '80s toys, artbooks, DVDS & whatever from Star Blazers, Gundam, Robotech, Godzilla, Japanese super hero shows. Congrats on the new job, hope you like it.

@Six, I don't mind it. I'm giving it some time but I like the office. And I LOVED robotech.

Robotech was awesome, especially for an '80s cut & paste edit/dub job.

The old location for the Javits Center was so much better. It was located inside Columbus Circle.

Well only the first season anyway, and the parts when minmae didn't sing

@Cool John: Not from Cbus! I must've misspoke! But Dana and V-3 are!
Avatar 10:07pm

@Tom: Never was there. But I hate doing shows at the current one. They rip off the vendors so bad it's unbelievable. That's why I never do the N.Y. ComicCon.

Happy thanksgiving to you and your family, Paul. Happy to be listening live and loud... in slippers.
Avatar 10:10pm

Batman, you mean the Macross story right? Her singing was MUCH better in the original JAPANESE dub. The third part with the transforming bikes was pretty cool too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:12pm
Cooh John:

@ DJ PB: Sorry, I must've misheard. Drowsy after working 10 hours. Heard of Dana, but not V-3.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:17pm
Cooh John:

@ DJ PB: Thanks for the Cbus love. I hear Columbus music on WFMU once a month.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:17pm
Switchblade Batman:

Yup, the Macross story. I really wish Netflix did something with that. Like they did with Voltron
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:25pm
DJ PB:

@Mike Sin: I hope you're getting the stuffing ready. For the manicotti!
Avatar 10:32pm
Number Six:

They can't. Harmony Gold owns the US rights to ANYTHING from Macross. That's why only 1 or 2 of the sequals from Japan ( and there have been many) ever made it to the US.

Here's a better explanation of the copyright issue with the show.

We went to see Jesus and Mary Chain at a chapel in New Haven back in the early 90s. It was such a religious setting, I expected them to be introduced by a priest.

I read something about that @Six, I wish Netflix would throw more money at them though

I'd be happy if they would just release the Japanese followups and not do any original content. Harmony Gold's new material has been less than steller. I can't even begin to describe how much Robotech Sentinels sucked. The Shadow Chronicles wasn't too bad. Both suffer from being made by Americans who just don't really seem to understand the original material. Kind of like that Death Note abomination that just surfaced on Netflix. AND FOR GOD'S SAKE USE A REAL ANIME PRODUCTION HOUSE-NOT DREAMWORKS (that's why I don't like Voltron).
