Well maybe the only artist to be named EXPLICITLY in the title of a LZ song?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26pm
Krys O.:

Capitol Years reminds me of Lane Steinberg/The Wind.
  12:29pm
jmr3:

I don't think 'Boogie with Stu' is about Ian Stewart, anyway. It's just a boogie, with Stu. Actually a cover/swipe of Richie Valens's cover/swipe of a Little Richard song. No idea where Little Richard got it. Roy Harper maybe?

Just got out for a lunch-time tune-in. Hi Pseu!
Geek alert re: "Our Love Was, Is" -- on the mono version, it's mixed with an entirely different guitar solo and some more effects layered on the vocals. Worth checking out if you only heard the stereo version of this great song for many years!

re: the Who pre-1970
Good point I think a lot of folks of a certain age (those born in the '60s and early '70s) grew up with all the Who's albums pre-Tommy being obscure and out of print. In addition, with limited outlets and "classic-rock" radio by the '80s reducing the pre-1970 Who to about seven songs, those first three LPs didn't really "exist." It's weird how say, "1967" is more accessible in 2017 more than it ever was 30 years ago.

I was born in 1967. By the way I gave away 350 albums. What a dummy! Anyway, yeah, The Who's back catalog was kinda hard to find. I was a record collector in 1985 and came upon The Who Sell Out and bought it for a whole $25 dollars at Desert Shore Records on Marshall Street in Syracuse, NY.
